Jazz Piano by James Adger

James Adger is a United States Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran.

My induction to Art, painting that is, came about through an Out-Patient Art Therapy program for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

I can’t tell you how much joy I’ve found in painting. Once I picked up a brush and put paint to a canvas the light of joy and freedom became my beacon in the storm. A light, I hope, that never goes out. The hours I spend in my little studio just seem to fly away. I often wonder how the “Great Artists” were able to complete any of their work. I know for me, by the time I finish one project, another one or two ideas are already floating in my head. When I hear others comment about their work needing a few more touches, I laugh…. been there, done that. I do most of my work in acrylics with a little work in Pastels as well as some work in watercolors.

The photographic side of my work came many years ago when I had shoe boxes full of pictures with no idea what to do with them. Now computers makes it easier to manage them.
