Richard Wobbe is a United States Air Force veteran.
Born in Washington, D.C. and grew up in the rough and tumble neighborhood of Anacostia. Enlisted the USAF honoring the tradition of my family, and also to avoid being drafted into the US Army. (Love amongst friends, No offense meant)
Received a degree at Florida Southwestern while going to night school and raising two children as a single father. I worked for GTE, New England Tel., Sprint, and was owner-operator of Moby Ricks Bar and Marina. As an artist with a background in science, math and electronics, I tend to get inspiration for many of my pieces from nature. Since I’m also a certified dive instructor for HSA, Handicapped Scuba Association, I’ve experienced many opportunities to observe under water sea life. Thus, on all of my glass art pieces I am particularly careful to represent realistic biological and anatomical structures in nature. I have incorporated my knowledge of basic electronics to add lighting effects to some of my more recent art works.
I am currently retired and doing the two best things in this entire world. I own my own art company, as a stained glass artist, which is Naples Art Glass, and I am very involved with Collier Lee Honor Flight as a volunteer. Both are my passions, my world.
